Samsung Display has announced that UL Solutions has verified its QD-OLED panels for TVs and monitors under the QuantumView program, and that they have passed with flying colors in terms of viewing angles.
As part of the QuantumView verification process, UL Solutions evaluates how a displayâs luminance and color accuracy change as the viewing angle shifts from the front in 10-degree increments up to 60 degrees.

According to the evaluation, Samsung Displayâs QD-OLED panels retain over 60% of their luminance at a 60-degree viewing angle, while color shift remains below 0.012 Îuâvâ. In contrast, most LCD panels see a luminance drop below 20% and a color shift increase to as much as 0.025 at the same angle.
In other words, Samsung Displayâs QD-OLED panels deliver significantly higher brightness retention and notably lower color distortion than typical LCD panels when viewed off-axis.
The company says these characteristics make its QD-OLED panels particularly well-suited for TVs, dual- or triple-monitor setups, and professional reference displaysâscenarios where screens are often viewed from wide or multiple angles.
